Best time to be there

Oman's climate differs from one area to another. It is hot and humid in the coastal areas in the summer between May and August, while it is hot and dry in the interior with the exception of the higher mountains, which enjoy a moderate climate round the year. The climate is best from September through to April.

Oman Holidays

Oman is a country unlike any in the region and our expert team on the ground will ensure your Oman holiday provides an authentic experience of this land of contrasts.

The Sultanate of Oman has one of the oldest civilisations in the Arabian Peninsula and is a country of mountains, wadis, deserts and historic old forts.  Oman has over 600 miles of coastline and unlike Dubai there are no skyscrapers - most larger buildings adhere to traditional Arabic designs with new buildings being either white or sand coloured.

With Abercrombie & Kent your Oman holiday will be an experience of the real Oman, with its fascinating culture, traditions and landscapes.

Begin your Oman holiday in Muscat, renowned for its corniche, fine museums and souq. Away from Muscat, watch turtles come ashore to lay their eggs on the beaches of Ras al Hadd. Walk through forest-clad gorges nestled in the foothills of Jebel Akhdar (the Green Mountains) and meander through ancient cliff-top villages. Experience the stark beauty of the Wahiba Sands, whose majestic dunes form the edge of the fabled Empty Quarter. Dine under a canopy of stars.

Follow in the footsteps of Thesiger and capture the stillness of the Omani desert from our camp in the Wahiba Sands.  Far deeper in the desert than any other camp, you can enjoy the authentic Oman holiday experience by staying in a traditional Bedouin tent made from black goat hair.  Meet the local Bedouin people of the desert and go in search of the desert oryx.

Oman holidays remain firm favourites with our clients, not least thanks to its great beaches and winter sun.

Pricing
At A&K all of our journeys are individually tailored to suit your needs and timescale. However, as a guide, a 7 night journey in Oman will cost from £2,598 per person based on two adults sharing with flights from the UK and subject to availability.
