There is one main navigation menu and screen reader users can 'skip' these navigation links by using 'skipnav'.
Layout
Text is laid out using style sheets which conform to RNIB See it Right standards. Users can change the style sheets in their browsers to make viewing easier for their individual requirements. The document standard used is XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
Access keys
This website incorporates ACCESSKEY functionality. These keys can be used to navigate the site quickly and easily. The ACCESSKEY functionality used on this site is as follows:
- Jump to Homepage [Accesskey '0']
- Jump to Site Map [Accesskey '1']
- Jump to Navigation [Accesskey '2']
- Jump to Content [Accesskey '3']
- Jump to Accessibility Statement [Accesskey '4']
IE 6,7
Simply hold down Alt, then press the corresponding number, release and then press return.
Netscape 8 / Mozilla
Simply hold down Alt, then press the corresponding number
Netscape 9 / Firefox 2
Simply hold down Shift + Alt, then press the corresponding number
Opera
Hold down Shift + Esc to enter 'access key' mode - a list of available accesskeys will then be displayed, with the access key in brackets, followed by the link title. Press the corresponding key to open the link. To close 'access key' mode without opening one of the links, press Shift + Esc again.
Safari
Simply hold down Ctrl, then press the corresponding number
