The richness and diversity of Madagascar's landscapes is unique: from the eerie spiny forests of the southwest, to the lush eastern rainforests which are home to playful lemurs and two thirds of the world's chameleon species, including the dwarf chameleon (at the size of your thumb, the smallest in the world).  The west meanwhile is dominated by species-rich dry deciduous forests. 

Alternatively, travel inland along roads that twist through mountains and across rivers revealing small villages where sacred rites are still intrinsically entwined into the daily life of the people.
