Best time to be there

Known as the country of eternal spring, Guatemala is good to visit all year round but the dry season is November to May. The climate also varies according to altitude. The low-lying jungle areas such as El Peten are generally hot and sticky, in contrast to the highlands which are pleasantly warm during the day but can be very cool at night.

Guatemala holidays

Guatemala is Central America in miniature. Bordered by Mexico, Belize and Honduras, Guatemala has everything from ruins to rainforests and colonial churches to Indian markets.

A holiday in Guatemala with Abercrombie & Kent will be as memorable as the country itself, thanks to our in-depth knowledge and wealth of local contacts.

Antigua, the original capital, is set in the midst of three volcanoes Agua, Fuego and Acatenango and a wonderful town of colonial tranquillity and Mayan colour - a must for every Guatemala holiday.

Aldous Huxley once described Lake Atitlan as the 'most beautiful lake in the world'. Here your Guatemala holiday will take in the peace and serenity of the landscape whilst exploring Mayan villages and religious mysteries. Chichicastenango's vibrant market, meanwhile, is the best place to pause your Guatemala trip to shop for arts and crafts and is a photographer's paradise.  Continue your Guatemala travels further north to discover Mayan ruins hidden amongst the dense jungle.

At Tikal, explore monumental pyramids peaking out over the tropical canopy. Holidays in Guatemala can be perfectly combined with Belize and are ideal for relaxation, adventure, romantic honeymoons or family holidays.

Pricing
At A&K all of our journeys are individually tailored to suit your needs and timescale.  However, as a guide, a 10 night journey in Guatemala will cost from £3,165 per person based on two adults sharing with flights from the UK and subject to availability.
