Vietnam's capital Hanoi is a French colonial city with a wonderfully preserved Old Quarter.

Ho Chi Minh City (formally Saigon) also retains many of the hallmarks of its colonial past, with tree-lined boulevards, open-air cafés and huge bustling marketplaces. Home to Angkor Wat, one of the most stunning archaeological sites in the world, Cambodia also has much to offer, with the vibrant city of Phnom Penh and the notorious nearby Killing Fields. Laos, with its capital Vientiane and the enchanting little town of Luang Prabang, is one of the regions least commercialised countries and offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and observe a way of life that has changed little for centuries.
