Day 1- London/JohannesburgDepart London Heathrow on your overnight flight to Johannesburg.

Day 2 - Johannesburg/Antananarivo

Transfer to your flight to Antananarivo,Madagascar. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Tarajava Guest House (or similar) for an overnight stay.

Day 3 - Antananarivo/Fort Dauphin

Fly from Antananarivo to Fort Dauphin where you will be met by a representative of Madagascar Classic Camping and transferred to The Colbert Hotel for the night. Dependent on flight times there may be the chance to do an optional rainforest tour in the afternoon.

Day 4 - Fort Dauphin/Mandrare River Camp

Enjoy a scenic transfer to camp passing traditional Malagasy villages. Enroute you will stop at the amazing dunes of Lac Anony where you will also enjoy a picnic lunch. For the next three nights you will be staying at Mandrare River Camp. This luxury camp is set on the banks of the river. Each tent is beautifully furnished with handcarved traditional furniture and each has en suite bathrooms with bucket showers. All of the catering in camp is provided by the staff of KuDeTa Restaurant, who provide five star service and excellent cuisine.

Days 5 and 6 - Mandrare River Camp

Two full days to enjoy this incredibly diverse region of Madagascar. Excursions will take you into local villages where traditional life exists as it has done for centuries. This area is incredibly rich in a cultural heritage far away from the tourist routes. You will also enjoy nature walks in search of the amazing flora and fauna of this magical island where you may be fortunate to see ring-tailed lemurs or the fascinating ’dancing’ sifaka lemurs in their natural habitat.

Day 7 - Fort Dauphin/Antananarivo

Transfer by road for approximately four hours to Fort Dauphin for your onward flight to Antananarivo. On arrival you will make a short visit to Akany Avoko Orphanage before returning to Tarajava Guesthouse (or similar).

Day 8 - Antananarivo/Diego Suarez

Depart Antananarivo by air to Diego Suarez in the north of the island where you will be met and transferred to Le Domaine de Fontenay Guesthouse near to the Amber Mountain National Park. You will stay here for three nights.

Days 9 and 10 - Amber Mountain National Park

Le Domaine de Fontenay is the perfect base to explore the northern region of Madagascar. Nearby attractions include the east coast beaches and Amber Mountain National Park where you may be fortunate to see the brown and crowned lemurs.

Day 11 - Diego Suarez/Antananarivo

Depart the north and travel back to Antananarivo for the night at Tarajava Guesthouse (or similar).

Day 12 - Antananarivo/London

Depart Antananarivo via Johannesburg arriving London Heathrow early day 13.Beach ExtensionsIt is possible to extend your stay at one of the fabulous beach resorts of Anjajavy or Tsarabanjina, please ask your consultant for more details.
