Days 1 to 2 - London/OsakaDepart from London Heathrow this evening on your Japan Airlines flight to Osaka arriving the next day. Transfer to the Westin Hotel Osaka for a night stay.

Day 3 – Osaka/Hiroshima

This morning see Osaka Castle before a visit to the Umeda Sky Building offering great views of the city. Shop on Shinsaibashisuji street before your afternoon Bullet train to Hiroshima (372km/1 1/2 hours). The Rihga Royal Hotel is your base for the next two nights.

Day 4 – Hiroshima/Miyajima

Today visit Hiroshima Peace Park. View the Atom Bomb Dome which provides a vivid reminder of the horrific events of 1945. Visit Miyajima Island and view the architectural beauty of the Itsukushima Shrine emerging from the water.

Days 5 to 7 – Hiroshima/Nara/Kyoto

Take the Bullet train to Kyoto (370km/1 1/2 hours) to stay at the Hyatt Regency for two nights. Drive to Nara to see Todaiji Temple with its wooden Buddha image, Deer Park and Kasuga Shrine. Sightseeing of Kyoto includes the Temple of the Silver Pavilion, Kiyomizudera Pure Water Temple and Arashiyama.

Days 7 to 8 - Kyoto/Takayama

Continue by local train (600km/3 hours) to Takayama in the Japanese Alps. Check-in to the Hotel Associa Takayama Resort for a two night stay. Enjoy a guided exploration of the morning market, Takayama Castle and a visit to old town.

Day 9 to 10 - Takayama/Hakone

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before embarking on your (700km/5 hours) journey by local train to Hakone. On arrival in Hakone you will be transferred to your hotel via Ten Province Pass. Check-in to the traditional Gora Kadan Ryokan where you will spend the next two nights.

Day 11 - Hakone/Kamakura/Tokyo

Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Hakone and Mount Fuji, see Owakudani valley and take the ropeway to the top of Mount Komagatake for spectacular views. This afternoon you will transfer to Tokyo (90km/1 1/2 hours) with sightseeing in the Shonan coastal town of Kamakura en route. Stay at the Mandarin Oriental hotel for the next four nights.

Days 12 to 14 - Tokyo

An early start sees you trying a breakfast of the freshest sushi at the Tsukiji Fish Market. After breakfast continue on to the Asakusa Kannon Temple with its colourful shopping, Edo Museum and the heart and soul of Tokyo, the Imperial Palace Plaza home of the Imperial family.

Day 15 - Tokyo/London

This morning transfer to Tokyo airport for your Japan Airlines flight to London Heathrow arriving later the same day.
