Galatas is a wonderfully traditional part of the Peloponnese, with a range of tavernas and shops along the waterfront, most with views of the picturesque island of Poros, which can be reached easily by shuttle boat. There are two good beaches here and nearby is the lemon forest, known locally as Lemonodassos, with its aromatic lemon blossoms.
