The 13 passenger L'Impressionniste began life as a cargo barge in Holland before undergoing a complete transformation into today’s powerful canal and river cruiser, with a light and airy interior reminiscent of the turn of the century era and decorated with a selection of prints, fabrics and wall colourings. Crewed by a knowledgeable Captain, Master Chef and crew of five, she travels through Provence along the Rhône and through Camargue, a beautiful region, with plenty of opportunity to cycle and stroll along the tow-path and wander into nearby villages. Food is of the highest standard, reflecting the traditions of the region including locally-available specialities which are all included in your price, as are the drinks from the barge’s open bar and fine wines bought along the way. Accommodation is spacious and comfortable, with ensuite facilities in all cabins. Countless excursions – walking round Van Gogh’s Arles, meeting the wild horses and flamingos of the Camargue, exploring the oyster beds of L’Etang du Thau – bring rural France to life. Please note that children under the age of 12 years are not accepted unless it is a charter booking or a special family departure.
